Caddyshack is Culturally Significant

The Library of Congress has been very busy lately, what with everyone constantly checking out and returning all these copies of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

And last week Felipe kept calling out because he basement flooded -- AGAIN.  When is he going to spend the money to get it fixed properly?  Sometimes the best deal isn't the best deal, Felipe!

Also, sad news for Library of Congress employees, the soda machine in the Judy Blume Wing of the YA building no longer carries FRESCA.  That said, we took a vote and decided that employees can (and should) keep saying "How 'bout a Fresca?"

Which reminds me -- we're about to publish out list of "culturally significant" films, books, sound-recordings and tweets.  Topping the list is the long-overdue CADDYSHACK. For years, some members had been lobbying for this classic sports comedy, directed by funnyman Harold Ramis (Stripes) and starring Bill Murray (The Man Who Knew Too Little).   But year after year, it was met with fierce opposition.

Turns out the nay-sayers thought we'd been pushing for CADDY SHAQ, the 1998 comedy movie where Shaquille O'Neill spends a summer working as a Caddy for Tom Arnold and Jackie Chan. (Later retitled on home video as National Lampoon's Golf Punks)

We apologize for any confusion, and regret that this has taken so long to be fixed.

now here are photos of women with lazers shooting out of their breasts:
